About

Priyanka Poulose (she/her) is a communication designer, design researcher, facilitator, and former architect with 8+ years of experience building meaningful visual identities and spatial experiences. As a forward-thinking designer, Priyanka is dedicated to breaking down barriers, fostering empathy, and creating spaces for meaningful dialogue through co-design practices, creative advocacy, storytelling, and multidisciplinary collaboration. Through her interdisciplinary design practice, Priyanka has partnered with reputed not-for-profit organizations and businesses in healthcare, education, fintech, sustainability, fitness, and consumer products, providing innovative design solutions to complex problems. Her leadership has seen the development of 40+ branding, packaging, UI, and participatory projects across India and British Columbia.  

Presently, Priyanka works part-time with UBC-CeMCOR, and the ECU Health Design Lab, contributing her visual design expertise, facilitation, and coordination skills to notable healthcare and community-focused initiatives. She also sits on CeMCOR’s Community Advisory Council.

In June 2024, Priyanka joined the Shumka Centre for Creative Entrepreneurship, serving as Project Coordinator for the Creative Horizons Network (CHN), a national grant initiative led by Emily Carr University focused on empowering creative practitioners through entrepreneurial education, mentorship, and resources. Since October 2024, Priyanka leads the Shumka Centre’s Technology Pathways for Creative Futures Program that provides targeted micro work-integrated-learning (WIL) opportunities for students by connecting them with the creative tech industry in BC.

Priyanka holds a Master of Design from Emily Carr University (2024) where she was recognized with the Governor General’s Gold Medal and the WA Architects Ltd Master of Design Award, and a Bachelor of Architecture from the University of Mumbai (2015).
